Natalie + Russ, Mountain House at Sunday River.
Fall is the best time of year to get married in Maine. The weather is cool, the leaves are vibrant and the cider is tasty. It is therefore no suprise that I was very excited and humbled when I was asked to be Natalie and Russ' wedding photographer at Mountain House on Sunday River last October
Natalie says, "We're from the Boston area, but my family has a house in Bridgton, so I grew up coming to the area and some our favorite memories together have been skiing, hiking and spending days on the lake in Maine. We were looking for a venue where we could have all of our family friends together for a weekend and where we'd get to spend quality time with people beyond just the wedding itself. The Mountain House had rooms for our bridal party, nearby rental houses, and the Sunday River Grand Summit Hotel, which allowed everyone to stay together in groups and in many cases, have a big reunion. We also loved that the Mountain House was beautiful but laid back - with lots of outdoor space and a gorgeous view! The house itself belonged to Julie's (the venue owner's) mother and stepfather and we loved that it was unique and not a cookie cutter hotel or traditional wedding venue."
In addition to picking a great venue, Natalie and Russ pulled together a stellar team of talented wedding professionals that gave her wedding a stunning visual look and a warm fall feeling.
